Partridge hunting
Red-legged partridge hunting in Spain:
The queen of Spanish small game
Hunting season: September to March
Nearby airports: Madrid and Valencia
Red-legged partridge hunting is one of the most emblematic small-game experiences in Spain. Considered by many hunters to be the queen of our feathered game, the red-legged partridge offers intense, elegant and very complete days in the field, especially when hunted on foot over pointing dogs.
At Naturcaza, we organize exclusive red-legged partridge hunts in La Mancha, one of the most representative and traditional regions of Spain for small game. We have more than 6,500 hectares of private estates, with varied, accessible and perfectly managed terrain to offer an authentic, comfortable experience tailored to each group.
Our hunters stay at a luxury country house (hacienda) located right on the estate, which allows for a comfortable, quiet and very practical stay, avoiding unnecessary travel and making the most of every hunting day. The accommodation combines comfort, attentive service, traditional cuisine and an ideal setting to rest after the day’s hunt.
The hunt is conducted mainly on foot, accompanied by pointing dogs and local guides with excellent knowledge of the terrain. Hunters may bring their own dogs or hunt with the dogs of our guides, who are perfectly trained for this type of day. In both cases, the work of the dog is one of the great protagonists of the experience.
Why hunt red-legged partridge with us?
Our estates have a high density of partridges and rabbits, as well as a great variety of terrain that allows us to organize different days without always repeating the same areas. Each day can be planned according to the group, the weather and the condition of the land, combining plains, cereal fields, scrubland, vineyards, olive groves and more rugged terrain.
In addition to red-legged partridge, the program can be complemented with other traditional small-game methods, such as ferret rabbit hunting, a format much appreciated by French hunters, as well as thrush, duck or pigeon pass shooting, depending on the season, conditions and possibilities of each estate.
One of the great advantages of our programs is that the days are adapted to each hunter’s physical profile. We can organize more sporting days for those who want to walk and hunt intensively, but also more accessible days for older hunters or those who prefer to walk less without giving up the enjoyment of an authentic day of small-game hunting.
La Mancha offers the perfect balance of hunting tradition, open landscapes, good game density, gastronomy and hospitality. It is an ideal destination for red-legged partridge lovers seeking a well-organized, comfortable and authentically Spanish experience.
