Sierra Nevada Spanish ibex

The elegant climber

Hunting season: October to May
Best months: November 15 to January 15, and April and May
Nearby airports: Valencia, Alicante, Granada

Found between southern Valencia and the mountains of Granada and Jaén. This subspecies is recognizable by its thinner horns, curved like sabers. Because of the steep, rocky terrain, the stalk is demanding, but it is rewarded with one of the most beautiful hunting experiences in Spain.

Recognizable by its saber-shaped horns. It inhabits the area between southern Valencia, Granada and Jaén.

One of the most spectacular hunting areas in Spain, with deep valleys, gorges and crystal-clear rivers. It is also common to find red deer, fallow deer, wild boar and other species.

This Spanish ibex is smaller and lighter in color than those of Beceite and Gredos, but larger and darker than the Ronda ibex. Its horns grow vertically, flaring outward and backward, with the tips often curving inward.
